SQUANDERER is the only Triple Crown Winner in India till date and is the all time great thoroughbred at Indian Turf. Has won 18 races out of 19 starts. This horse was bred at Yervada Stud and owned by Mr Ranjit Bhatt and Mr I.S Mirchandani. He lost to Red Satin in the year 1976 in Bangalore summer Colts Trial Stakes placed third behind Red Satin. SQUANDERER'S fascinating win was in Rwitc in Invitation Cup when he beat English thoroughbred CERTAINTY from impossible position , only 200metres left to winning post jockey Jagdish handled him so well that the horse did respond and the turn of foot was just unbelievable beating CERTAINTY convincingly.
